JSMA Courtyard Reflecting Pool – Scope of Work

  1. Clean heavy biologic growth, soiling and delaminating substrate
  2. Epoxy inject cold joints
  3. Patch large spalls (concrete flakes) and areas where concrete pours were out of plane
  4. Parge coat (cover with mortar that bears an ornamental pattern) interior walls
  5. Repair delaminating previous parge coating of coping cap
  6. Caulk expansion joints on coping caps at corners.

Master® Builders Solutions MasterSeal® (Sonneborn) waterproofing and joint sealant:

Master Builders Solutions MasterEmaco® (Thoro) patching mortar MasterEmaco N 426 (formerly Thorite Rapid Vertical).

Sealant And Concrete Repair Protection Product Application

  • Clean and prepare all surfaces
  • Epoxy inject cold joints
  • Patch deep spalls and out of plane areas with MasterEmaco N 426
  • Apply a brush coat of MasterSeal 584 to the pool’s interior walls
  • Trowel apply a 1/2-inch layer of MasterSeal 584 and screed smooth, then finish with a light sponge finish
  • Apply two coats of MasterSeal 581 by brush and simulate a medium texture, sponge float finish
  • Apply a brush coat of MasterSeal 584 on the coping cap, and trowel apply a 1/4 inch layer of 584 to repair the previous parging
  • Apply two coats of MasterSeal 581 and simulate a broom finish
  • Caulk the expansion joints at the corners with MasterSeal NP 150.
