Waterproofing
Waterproofing, Dampproofing -
Above and Below Grade, Water Repellents
You'd figure that in Seattle, we have to know about waterproofing.
You're right! Since 1917, Atlas Supply has been the Northwest's leading
supplier of waterproofing products and materials. Today at Atlas Supply
you will find a full range of both above and below grade waterproofing
materials and systems to meet all your demanding waterproofing needs that
include sheet and liquid applied membranes, cementitious coatings, water
stops and penetrating water repellents.
Drainage and protection systems
- These drainage composites give construction professionals a high performance,
prefabricated drainage media that is designed to retain soil while allowing
water to collect and pass through to its core, and away from your building.
In addition, they provide lasting protection to the waterproofing membrane
system.
Roofing underlayment and self-adhered
flashing by Grace - Grace's popular
Ice & Water Shield is a sloped roof underlayment which provides a
highly effective barrier against leakage resulting from ice dams or wind-driven
rain. Similarly the Grace self-adhesion
flashing systems are the products of choice for sealing leaks around windows,
doors, corner boards, sills or anywhere there is an opening or area susceptible
to water, air and moisture penetration.
Sheet applied membranes -
Waterproofing applications such as for foundation walls, plaza decks,
parking and bridge decks, tunnels, interior slabs, planters, laboratories
and mechanical rooms and balconies, the popular Grace
Bituthene membranes are applied to the positive side of structures to
stop water before it hinders the structural elements of a building. For
Blind Side waterproofing applications, Preprufe membranes form a continuous
mechanical bond to concrete that is cast against it. These membranes are
installed against soil retention systems or applied over mud slabs or
compacted soil before the concrete structure is poured. Applications include
foundation walls, under slabs, and tunnels.
Bentonite clay and sheet membranes
- These waterproof membranes include the popular MiraClay, a bentonite
clay membrane technology which consists of a uniform layer of sodium bentonite
clay that is sandwiched between a durable puncture resistant non-woven
polypropylene fabric. These membranes are designed for waterproofing below
grade structural slabs. Advantages include self healing if ripped or punctured,
tremendous impermeability and excellent resistance to chemicals, and the
ability to expand and seal cracks in concrete. The Carlisle sheet membrane
waterproofing systems consist of a self-adhering asphalt laminated to
polyethylene which forms a heavy 60 mil. protective membrane system.
Waterstops - Waterstops are
typically used in nonmoving joints to create watertight concrete joints
such as many types of cast-in-place and precast below grade concrete applications.
These waterstop systems are construed, chemically modified, natural rubber
strips with embedded wire mesh which eliminate unnecessary expansion and
prevent "winding" action when fastened to concrete. Also at
Atlas Supply, you'll find water-swelling waterstops that are a caulk-type
single component hydrophilic compound used in water-stop repair applications
and new construction.
Industrial strength elastomeric membranes
- Used with outstanding success as a lining for potable water storage
tanks, these two-component systems allow for expansion and contraction
over a broad temperature range and maintain flexibility and waterproofing
properties under continuous exposure to water above or below grade.
Liquid applied waterproof membranes - These liquid applied membranes consist
of a single component moisture-curing bitumen-modified polyurethane system
that bridges cracks up to ¼ inches and guards against pinholes.
Typical applications include above-grade between two-course concrete and
within cavity walls, parking garages, fountains and pools, sea walls,
dams, reservoirs and many more.
Protective waterproofing slurry seal
by Sika - This is a two-component, polymer-modified cement-based
protective and waterproofing slurry coating suitable for use in both interior
and exterior applications. Main uses include internal and external waterproofing
and dampproofing concrete, mortar blockwork and brickwork.
Penetrating water repellent sealers
- These high-performance, clear, water-based silane/siloxane systems are
designed for vertical concrete, brick and other mansonry surfaces. Advantages
include providing for the highest degree of water repellency, VOC compliant,
environmentally friendly, breathable, does not alter surface appearance,
and is easy to apply. These and other penetrating water repellent products
you'll find at Atlas Supply are specifically designed for various concrete
and masonry surfaces and environmental conditions which include application
on horizontal surfaces used on stadium floors, food courts, plazas, parking
garages and other interior and exterior applications.
